Life lesson from cooking #1: Every individual is unique and while one size fits all may work for gloves, they don't work for everything (including government programs). Learn from other people but have faith in your own decision.Today, Julia wanted me to puree the onions and potatoes of my soup. I didn't want to. I like natural chunks of potatoes and tender onions in my soup (or maybe its stew). When you put food in a blender it looks like it belongs in a baby food jar not in my tummy. I trust Julia, but for me...i'd rather hand mash them.

Lesson #2: Some of the best things in life, require a lit pain to get.
Delicious chicken, less than delicious burns on my arms from the scalding butter that spit itself out of the pan.
